Welcome anew, or welcome back, to Rickmansworth Cricket club for 2024.
Everything will be based around our popular kids club night which is Fridays approximately from 6pm to 7.30pm. When the weather is decent and we are allowed to do so, we will also be encouraging parents to join us on the patio for drinks from the bar whilst the boys and girls play Cricket and maybe we can plan a BBQ or two. We also have a special deal with Papa Johns Pizza if you want a warm picnic tea on the lawns.
We have a number of Age Groups this year.
BOYS
Year 6, 7, 8 and 9 upwards, who play with a hard ball and who start outdoor sessions on Friday April 19th with the CricketVision Coaches. They play matches against other clubs and the fixtures will be on the club website for each age group, Fridays is coaching night from 6.00pm to 7.30pm, but maybe a slightly earlier finish during April and early May. After the first week the Year 6 and 7 boys will stay on Fridays, whilst the Year 8 and upwards will move to Tuesday nights for coaching.
Years 3, 4 and 5. These pupils play with a softer ball, called an incrediball or windball and their outdoor session also start on Friday April 26th. They start a bit later at 6.15pm and run for an hour until 7.15pm. Fixtures against other clubs for years 4 and 5 are on this website under each team. The Year 3's may get a chance to play in some of these, but generally they are waiting until next year. We also enter a 100 competition from July onwards.
MIXED Girls and Boys
For any younger ones, Years 2 and below, it is Fridays only and these start on Friday May 3rd and run from 6.00pm to 6.45pm. Softball only. This is mixed girls and boys
GIRLS
We are really growing this group fast and have Girls only teams at Under11 (incrediball), and U13 (hardball). The Girls Only sessions are from 6.15pm to 7.15pm and run by Mark, one of the Dads, and visiting guest coaches.

We can provide all the equipment. All boys involved in hardball cricket must bring their own abdominal protector (known as a box) if they intend to take part in the games or the net sessions involving a hardball. Girls can too, but it is not mandatory on medical grounds.
All Children are welcome, boys and girls, to join the club, though there is a waiting list for some age groups *currently boys Year 3 and Year 6) due to the popularity of the club sessions.
Ricky is a Community Club so we don't care what the boys and girls wear, providing they are warm enough if it is cold, and cool enough in the heat. Any colour is welcome. Even football shirts! Please wear a hat in the sun and bring a water based drink (and don't leave the bottle behind, Dad). Parents are welcome to stay at the club and watch, or help out if that's of interest. Your Children are safe with us.
