As you can see from the photo, we have been able to cut the main square down to 3cm this weekend, which is a lot better than last year where we couldnt get on the square until April as it was too wet.
Don't be mistaken, the weather is still not playing ball and there is standing water on the outfield, however things are not as bad as they were 12 months ago and a little more of this drying and sunny weather (I am writing this on Sunday) and we might be able to get the outfield gangmowers back in action.
Applications for funding continue to be written and we are working with the ECB and Three Rivers Council to see how they could help us.
In the meantime, the camera for live-streaming our games is in process and will be ready for the 1st game of the season. We are also hoping to secure an electric mower for the main square, though that will depend on some sponsorship deals coming good. If there is anyone out there who knows a business who might be prepared to invest in return for their name on shirts, lots of social media content and our undying gratitude and love, then please help us secure their help.
We have identified about £200,000 of investments we need to make in the club in 2025/26. It is a lot of money, but the committee are working hard behind the scenes and hopefully we will soon have the facilities to match our ambition to be a leading Herts Club in the years to come.
